Our story
starts off in a small suburban town in Pennsylvania. Christina, our realtor, has been working with a young couple for approximately 2 months and is now showing houses to her first time buyers.
Christina, a seasoned realtor, has shown approximately 6-8 homes to this couple! Generally, the couple likes to see homes on the weekend or in the evenings after 5:00 pm. A good relationship with trust has been
developed between Christina and this couple.
The homes are both twins and singles ranging between $110,000 and $130,000. The school district is rated well and is a concern to the couple who state they are
planning to start a family soon.
One Saturday in late November 1997, Christina was planning on showing three more homes to the couple that day. It was a beautiful, sunny day and the two parties were to meet
separately at the first appointment. The man showed up and met Christina. She asked where his fiancée' was and he replied that he was alone and she could not make it. He would like to see the homes without
her today.
The first home they saw was a rancher that an elderly couple owned. The owners just so happened to be home when Christina and her client saw the house. The second house was a 60 to 70 year old
twin. This house was vacant and required Christina to get the key out of the lockbox hanging on the front door. After entering the house, Christina started to feel a bit strange, but was not able to put her
finger on why. The two proceeded to the upstairs and entered a small bedroom. Christina went in the room first and her client entered after her, closing the door behind him. Christina realized that the
man she had trusted and worked with for all of this time, was now basically someone she did not know at all. This stranger grabbed her and tried to attack her! When Christina yelled as loud as she could, the
man became startled enough for Christina to get out of the house. The man soon after tried to explain himself to Christina. She immediately told her broker of this incident and ended the relationship with
her clients.
